In the morning.

8.00: We had breakfast: bread with butter and jam, croissant, coffee, milk, cereals, orange juice, tea…

9.00 – 12.30: Visiting the schools. During the intensive program we’ve got the assignment to create an outdoor-activity for children about ‘the city’. But before we can do that, we have to meet the children that we’re doing the activity with. So today after breakfast the first thing we did was taking the metro/bus to the schools and visit the kids for the first time. Group A went to a school near Park Guell, group B went to a school in Bancuerra and group C went to a school right in the city. The meaning of today was to meet the children. We all prepared some activities so the children could get to know us and that we would get to know them. We splitted up in 2 groups and started our activities. Some played name-games, some played and sang some songs, there were dancing games,..  Each group created a fun morning for the children. After the activity we told the children we would come back on Wednesday and do some outdoor-activities with them and then waved goodbye. Some of the groups got a tour true the school and visited also the other classrooms. It was very interesting to see how a school looks in Spain. It was a nice experience that gave us a lot of inspiration for Wednesday!

12.30 – 13.15: We had lunch in town.

In the afternoon.

13.30 - 17.30: We did a workshop with Sarah Coorevits and Kirsten Marit in a big square near a church (in Paseo de Gracia). In this square we did many activities. First we did two groups, one of this had many pictures about this square and they had to find this place and then they had to explain to the other group the details of this place because the group that didn’t have the picture, they had to find this place only with the tracks.

After that we did something else. We did groups of three people and each group had to put a paper with a circle or square on different pictures, so only we could see a circle or a square of this picture. Then we had to find the place that is in the picture.

The next activity was that the teachers gave us transparent papers and permanent markers, we had to choose one picture and then, we had to put the picture behind the transparent paper and drew the lines of this picture on the transparent paper.

After that, we did three groups. Each group drew on a long paper the different lines that we could find in this square. We drew with crayons and it was beautiful.

We continued with other activity that consisted of doing a domino, but we had to draw on each part of the domino using the technique of “frottage”.

And the last activity was that in two groups, each person had to draw something that they like it, and then each group had to invent sounds or movements that they are related to what they had drawn.

We learnt a lot of activities about photos that we can use them when we will be teachers.

When we finished all activities, we came back to the monastery.

In the evening.

19.00: After the workshops, we met for the story time, which is a time when we could relax, listen to a story, sing together and speak about our feelings of the day. That day, we had a story about the hungarian dragon called « Süsü» that was a bit silly but very friendly and always smiling and that had a dream to transform himself into a dragon. We also saw a small video of it and we could listen to some Hungarian words that were very special.

20.00: We had dinner in the dining room of the monastery.

21.00: Afterwards, we had our special Belgium (but-only-those-who-speak-French) night. We gather in the big room to have fun together and to learn new things about other countries. This day, everything went a bit wrong. We were all very tired by our first week, and there were some technical problems to connect the laptop and also to have the right sound. While they were trying to resolve that problems, we began a game which was nice but hard to understand (we took more time to understand it than to play it ;-). Then we had our « present-our-country power point » in order to know better our colleagues’ cities. That was nice. After, we had one funny song and a dance when at the end everybody was sitting on the knees of the others. Then they taught us a typical dance, and we laugh a lot even though we danced in a way that was not exactly the « Belgian way ». Afterwards, they tried to sing their national song but the version they took from internet was not the one they knew. So, it was a bit strange to see people trying to sing a known song but in a way they didn’t know. We felt a bit sorry for them even though we did really enjoy our time that night.
